For the fiftieth anniversary of the Republic of Malta, the mark is a bold 50 that slants upward, a figure of forward motion, signed MALTA REPUBBLIKA beneath a 1974-2024 bar.
Burgundy, gold and blue carry the dignity of the Republic’s history and the sea around it, and the mark moves easily from T-shirts and pin badges to coasters, print and screen.
The poster artwork puts a lady in red at its centre, her gaze fixed beyond Pjazza San Ġorġ as fireworks open over the square: the spirit of the island, looking ahead.
